Bringing Out The Genius In Your Child

geniusOne frequently asked question about homeschooling is “how can I possibly give my children everything they need for a good education?” When we begin homeschooling, or even when we have been homeschooling a while, we can fall into the trap of replicating the public school model in an attempt to ensure a complete education. This video is one of the best discussions I’ve heard about studies of so-called “geniuses” and the commonalities in their educations. The beauty of homeschooling is that we can break out of the paradigm of public school and create an environment that fosters a rich, creative life as we teach our children. They may not all be “geniuses” by the world’s definition, but I believe each child has their own unique giftedness that we can foster. Albert Einstein said, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
